luxury fibers: Alpaca

Alpaca is a fine, incredibly soft, lightweight, durable and hypoallergenic fiber.

Peru is the largest producer of Alpaca in the world (with over80%).

Alpacas are considered ecological animals as they don’t damage or erode the pastures due to their soft cushion feet.

It’s the cohesion of all the other fibers: the softness of cashmere, the shininess of mohair, the thick ness of angora and the strength of merino wool.

This fiber comes in a range of more than twenty natural colors, from inky black to warm chestnuts and snowy white.

Alpaca is a renewable source of fiber and provides important income to the Andean communities

Alpaca is a lifestyle

Due to alpaca’s unique properties, many luxury brands have chosen the fibre to manufacture high quality fashion garments.
But beyond that, wearing an alpaca garment has a deeper meaning. It means:

To be gentle on the land.

To save energy and water.

To support Andean people and their cultural history.

To be part of a unique tribe with an enlightened and mindful lifestyle.

luxury fibers: Pima Cotton

Also called extra-long-staple cotton (ELS).

The cotton fibers of Pima cotton are 50% longer than those of standard cotton.

Pima is the strongest of all cottons, making fabrics durable and long-lasting.

Primarily grown in Peru, Australia, and the United States.

Its cultivation in Peru dates as far back as 3100 B.C.

Benefits

Lenght

Ideal Growing Conditions 1-3/8" long threads, 50% longer than standard cotton. Of the northern coastal valleys of Peru, the rich soil and near-perfect equatorial temperatures provide its silky luster. Makes it silky soft and resistant to pilling.

Durability

Hypo-Allergenic It lasts 50% longer than standard cotton because of its thickness. It does not contain pesticide residues or synthetic fertilizers. It is ideal for sensitive skin. This makes it very absorbent too.

Environmentlly friendly

Pure Colors Harvested entirely by hand, with no impurities or yellowish cast (like industrial harvesting). Yarns absorb the dye more efficiently and effectively, resulting in lasting color penetration. It results in brilliant white shades and dyes nicely.
